How to Get the Commander’s Standard in Elden Ring
In Elden Ring, as you move in the southwest direction from Sellia, Town of Sorcery, towards the heart of the clearing, keep an eye for a group of trees formed in circular formation. Commander O’Neil spawns in this location. He is an optional boss and you don’t need to beat Commander O’Neil to progress in the story but he is very useful for the items he drops. To get the Commander’s Standard in Elden Ring you have to beat Commander O’Neil.
How to Beat Commander O’Neil in Elden Ring
Melee or Magic attacks by foot will be enough to beat Commander O’Neil in Elden Ring. Commander O’Neil will wield the Commander’s Standard and call on the spirits of soldiers from exile. It is advisable to fight this battle while riding Torrent. It will help you outrun the Commander’s attacks and counters and help in avoiding his henchmen.
Killing the henchmen will make the fight easier and the Commander won’t summon another group. Commander O’Neil is a slow moving boss and he isn’t really bothered to chase you every where on the field. Apart from his close range swings which can be avoided easily, the only real danger while facing him is the Scarlet Rot and his henchmen.
Move out of the arena during the buildup of the Scarlet Rot to avoid it. Consumables, Immunity will slow the affects if you are caught by it, but it won’t reverse the damage.
To get the Commander’s Standard in Elden Ring you have to beat Commander O’Neil. The Commander’s Standard can be upgraded using the Somber Smithing Stones.
