How to Charge Touch Plus Controllers for Meta Quest 3
Before going any further, it is worth mentioning that the Meta Quest 3 Touch Plus controllers work on AA batteries by default. There are multiple methods through which you can keep the controllers charged. Here is a list of all of them explained:
Use Charging Dock to Charge Meta Quest 3 Controllers
For users who have also purchased the charging dock with Meta Quest 3, things are relatively simple. The charging dock comes with additional rechargeable batteries for the controllers which you will need to first install. Here are the steps you can follow to install those batteries:
- Start by taking one of the controllers and removing the battery cover.
- This can be done by pressing the minus symbol on the side.
- Once done, remove the default battery that came with the controller and install the one that came with the charging dock.
- With one done, repeat the process for the next Meta Quest 3 Controllers.
- Once you are done with both, this will install the rechargeable batteries in both the controller.
- Users will then have to just plug in the charging dock and place the controllers on the dock on their sides.
Using Rechargeable Batteries
Another method to charge Meta Quest 3 controllers is to use any AA lithium-ion rechargeable batteries. You can replace the default ones with the rechargeable ones and charge them using an external AA battery charger. Follow the same process from above to replace the batteries.
Using AA Batteries
Users can always switch to any AA batteries available to charge up their Touch Plus Controllers. However, we would suggest making sure you are using the right batteries at your disposal to not harm the device.
