To unlock character customization in SAO Alicization Lycoris, you have to complete the Chapter 1 completely. It will take a long time (we’re talking 8 hours to even 20 hours) to complete Chapter 1 so patience is key. The option to change character appearance will be hard-earned when you eventually unlock it.
So, keep playing Chapter 2 until you reach a point where you see Kirito’s Tent. This place is important because it is where you will finally get the option. Kirito’s Tent can be found in North Centoria’s ground area.
Once you are inside the Tent, head towards a table where many books are kept (on your left). Here, you will get the option of ‘Character Create’. Along with that, you will also see other options of Encyclopedia, Recollections, View Tutorials and Change Difficulty.
From those options, select ‘Character Create’ and you will get all the different character customization choices available in the game. Right from the name, gender, hairstyle, hair color to body type, voice and height – there’s a lot you can change as per your choice.
