Players can simply change the difficulty in Alan Wake 2 by pausing the game and heading towards the main menu. You can do this by pressing the Menu Button on the Xbox controller or the Options Button on the PS5 controller in the game. PC players can simply press the ESC key on their keyboard to pause and enter the main menu. After which, here are the steps you can follow:

- Nightmare: Unlocked in New Game+, once you have completed the game.
