CD Projekt: Cyberpunk 2077 Bugs Will Be “As Low As To Let Gamers Not See Them”; Multiplayer Details Coming in 2021

According to those responsible at CD Projekt, concrete details on the multiplayer of Cyberpunk 2077 can only be expected in the coming year. In addition, it was promised that the role-playing game should be delivered in a version that is as bug-free as possible, even if minor bugs can of course never be avoided in a project of this size.

As part of a current investor conference, those responsible at CD Projekt spoke in detail about the upcoming role-playing game Cyberpunk 2077. After it was pointed out, among other things, that the release would not be postponed again, CD Projekt CEO Adam Kiciński promised that Cyberpunk 2077 should be delivered in a version that is as bug-free as possible.

However, he admitted that minor bugs cannot of course be avoided in a project of this size. However, the corresponding bugs should not have a negative impact on the gaming experience and should be fixed as soon as possible after the release.

So, in terms of bugs, we are all aware of them. Of course, such a big gang can’t be just bug free. That’s the kind of obvious, but we believe that the level will be as low as to let gamers not see them. And fortunately, some bugs extended previous were caused by some general — I would say general features and many of them are already fixed. So, what gamers will get will be different from what — and what we viewers will get in this final review is it’s better than what previewers, got.

Another topic that Kiciński talked about was the stand-alone multiplayer of Cyberpunk 2077. As the head of CD Projekt admitted, we will have to wait a little longer before the Polish studio will be able to talk about the multiplayer component of the role-playing game.

“So, first, we don’t call it modes. It’s a separate dedicated production, a big production. And we plan — we think about it as a standalone product. Obviously, it’s not entirely standalone as it comes from the universe of Cyberpunk and is very much related to the concept of single player Cyberpunk we — I came up with. But from our point of view it is a different independent production and an independent team of people is working on it. I said earlier that right now we’re not focusing too much on talking about other future products. Products to be released after Cyberpunk. So please be with us in the first quarter of next year when we plan to release a strategy update. And I think that cyberpunk multiplayer could be one of them.”

Cyberpunk 2077 will be released on December 10, 2020, for PS4, Xbox One, Google Stadia, and PC. Extensive technical upgrades for the new generation of consoles will also follow in 2021.
