    Castle Crashers is a 2D side-scrolling hack and slash video game by Behemoth. As you progress with this arcade game, you can unlock over 28 playable characters. It will take you 7-8 hours to complete this game but unlocking all the characters can take you a bit longer. So, here’s our guide on how to unlock all the characters in Castle Crashers.

    How to Unlock All Characters in Castle Crashers

    To unlock the characters, you need to complete certain levels with specific playable characters in Castle Crashers. While most of these playable characters can be unlocked in Regular Mode, some characters are unlocked only in Insane Mode. But which characters to pick for unlocking these characters?

    Regular Mode

    Here’s how to unlock all the characters in Regular mode:

    • Skeleton: You need to complete the game with the Red Knight to unlock the Skeleton.
      • Bear: Now, that you have unlocked Skeleton, you can complete the game with it to unlock the Bear.
    • Fire Demon: You need to complete the game with Orange Knight to unlock the Fire Demon.
      • Ninja: As you unlock the Fire Demon, complete the game with him to unlock this character.
    • Industrialist: You need to complete the game with the Blue Knight to unlock Industrialist.
      • Fencer: You can complete the game with Industrialist to unlock the Fencer.
    • Royal Guard: Complete the game with Green Knight to unlock Royal Guard.
      • Saracen: Upon unlocking the Royal Guard, complete the game with him to unlock the Saracen.
    • Gray Knight: You need to defeat the Barbarian Boss to unlock the Gray Knight.
      • Stove Face: Now, complete the game with Gray Knight to unlock the Stove Face.

    • Barbarian: To unlock Barbarian, you need to complete the King’s Arena Level.
      • Beekeeper: Once you unlock the Barbarian character, complete the game with him to unlock the Beekeeper.
    • Thief: You need to unlock the Thief’s Arena Level to unlock the Thief character.
      • Snakey: As you unlock Thief, complete the game with him to unlock the Snakey.
    • Peasant: You can complete the Peasant arena level to unlock the Peasant character.
      • Civilian: Now, complete the game with Peasant to unlock the Civilian.
    • Iceskimo: To unlock Iceskimo, you need to complete the Icy Arena Level.
      • Brute: You can complete the game with Iceskimo to unlock the Brute.
    • Conehead: You can unlock Conehead by completing the Volcano Arena Level.
    • Alien Hominid: To unlock the Alien Hominid, complete the Alien Ship stage.

    Now, let’s look at the characters that can be unlocked in Insane Mode.

    Insane Mode

    Here are all the characters that can be unlocked in Insane Mode:

    • King: You can complete the Cave Stage in insane mode to unlock the King.
    • Open-Faced Gray Knight: You need to defeat the Catfish in Insane mode to unlock the Open-Faced Gray Knight.
    • Necromancer: You need to complete the Industrial Castle level to unlock the Necromancer.
    • Cult Minion: You can beat the Ice Castle level to unlock Cult Minion.

    If you haven’t unlocked Insane Mode, you can do so by completing the game in a Regular Mode with any character.
