Though the developers of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare made it clear that the game would not have any loot boxes, they never said that it won’t have microtransactions and now it turns out that there will be a Battle Pass for the game.
The Battle Pass like any other will have mostly cosmetic things for players to purchase and will change with every season in the game, this is the latest trend in gaming which allows developers to charge players for content long after the initial purchase of the game.
On the official blog post on Activision, the developers have stated, “The new Battle Pass system will allow players to see the content that they are earning or buying. Battle Passes will launch timed to new, post-launch live seasons, so you can unlock cool new Modern Warfare-themed content that matches each season.”
Although it is nice to see that anything that has an impact on the actual game won’t be exclusive for the Battle Pass, there is a fine line when it comes to microtransactions and that a lot of the developers have faced flak for including an insane amount of things that could damage the game.
More will be revealed about Call of Duty: Modern Warfare as we get closer to the actual release of the game, developed by Activision.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will be available for PC, Xbox One and PS4.
