If you are having a Stick in your Inventory, simply grab it. When you have the Stick in your hand, look at it in the downward direction. You can then break it in half by left-clicking the mouse button. This will initiate an animation wherein your character breaks the stick with his legs in Sons of the Forest. Now that you know how to break the Stick, 1/3rd of your work while setting up a campfire is done.
The other 2/3rd part includes collecting and placing 8 rocks followed by liting them up. Thankfully, you can use that campfire to cook the meat you have collected. Moreover, it is better to cook that meat quickly. Keeping it unprocessed will spoil it leaving it useless
