Forza Horizon 5 is a beautiful game, and one of the best visuals we’ve seen in recent times. But if your textures are not loading due to a bug or you are seeing some blurry graphics, it can be quite unfortunate. Let’s take a look at how to potentially fix the Forza Horizon 5 textures not loading properly issue.
How to Fix Textures Not Loading or Blurry Textures Bug in Forza Horizon 5
There are a few settings you can change to fix the textures bug in FH5:
- Install the game on your SSD.
- Update your graphics drivers.
- Make sure that your Windows OS is 10 or 11 and your PC supports the recommended system requirements.
- Set the Texture to Extreme.
- Go to your Game Settings
- Head to Graphics > Environment Texture Quality > Switch to Extreme.
- Same for Environment Geometry Quality.
- You also need to get the settings of MSAA to 4x.
- Turn FXAA On.
Now, the last fix which is to set the Texture to Extreme seems to work for quite a few players, but it is taxing on your VRAM and may affect your performance if you don’t have the right hardware for it. The description for MSAA and FXAA changes in the game will mention:
Increasing this setting will require more VRAM and has a moderate GPU performance. Both costs will increase as the resolution increases. The framerate can drop significantly when the game requires more than the available VRAM.
As per the community posts, the blurry textures and texture not loading issue in Forza Horizon 5 happens on Ultra settings and lower.
Some players also suggest reinstalling the game but it seems to not do the trick. If you want to try it out, you can go ahead and re-download the 100+ GB game but there are no guarantees of the textures issue fixing itself.
At the time of writing, the game is in its early stages after launch and surely, the developers are aware of this problem. In their list of known FH5 issues, they’ve noted that corrupted textures are visible on the road and terrain in certain areas of the map after completing a Horizon Arcade event. Rest assured that any texture not loading issues have been identified and they are investigating it. In an upcoming patch, this may be fixed.
