The Blood of Lathander is a powerful legendary mace that can be obtained in Baldur’s Gate 3. It deals 1D6 fire, gives extra hit points, and can blind undead and fiends. Getting this weapon takes some time and effort, but it’s worth it for the power boost. Here is a step-by-step guide to obtaining the Blood of Lathander.
Getting the Blood of Lathander in Baldur’s Gate 3
The Blood of Lathander is located in the Inquisitor’s chambers within the Githyanki Creche near the Mountain Pass. To gain access, you must first make your way to the Creche. Once inside, head to Kith’rak Therezzyn’s office and give her the artifact on her desk. This will cause it to reject her and return to your hands.
Alternatively, you can pickpocket Therezzyn’s key and use it on the Githyanki Barrier Disruptor by the Inquisitor’s door. Either method will get you into the chambers.
Turn the Statues
When you enter the Inquisitor’s room, ignore him for now and head left to the room with two identical statues. These statues represent Lathander blessing the rising and setting sun. The left statue is stuck, so hit it with an attack dealing at least ten damage to unstick it.
Turn the left statue west to face the setting sun. Turn the right statue east to face the rising sun. This will reveal a hidden doorway, Daybreak Gate.
Disable the Barriers
Go through the doorway into a passage with three barriers blocking your way. Shoot the crystals near each barrier to deactivate them. You’ll also need to avoid or disarm the Dawnbreaker traps in between.
Once you get past the barriers, you’ll enter the chamber containing the Blood of Lathander.
Claim the Mace
Taking the mace will trigger a self-destruct sequence. You have two options to stop it:
- Destroy the four Lathander Solar Machines around the room within four turns. Use ranged attacks, as they can’t be damaged up close.
- Insert the Dawnmaster’s Crest into the slot below the mace. You get this by completing the Stained Glass window puzzle above the monastery.
Either method will let you safely take the Blood of Lathander. With this powerful mace, you’ll be ready to smite many foes on your journey through Baldur’s Gate 3.
