Sun Wukong has to tackle a lot of attacks from enemies and bosses and endure multiple elemental status effects in Black Myth: Wukong. There are 4 of them in the game – Scorch, Frost, Poison and Thunder. When The Destined One gets afflicted with these effects, you should know how to get rid of them immediately. Here’s a guide on the status ailments and how to cure them.
How to Cure Black Myth Wukong Status Effects?
The status effects are called the Banes in the game and aside from the cures mentioned below, you can level up the skills of Bane Mitigation and Four Banes Endurance (Survival skills under Foundation) to have better resistance against enemies that inflict them.
The Flower Primes soak will also come in handy because it cures all status effects when you drink from your gourd.
You can buy it from Shen Monkey at the beginning of Chapter 6, so before that, you can rely on consumables and movements as shown here:
Scorch
When you get hit by this status effect (that is, the Scorch gauge becomes full), Wukong gets burn damage over time and the way to cure it is by rolling on the ground. You can press the dodge button on land or water/snow to get rid of the Burn status ailment.
- The consumable you need: Body-Cooling Powder
You can buy Body-Cooling Powder from a Keeper’s Shrine Store by spending 180 Will. Here’s how to farm Will if you’re running short. If you’ve come across Xu Dog, you can buy it from him too. To immediately remove the Burnt state and increase burn resistance for a short duration, you can also keep a stock by crafting it. You need 1 Fragrant Jade Flower and 1 Jade Lotus.
Poison
Similar to burn damage, you receive Poison damage over time that you can either wait until it’s gone or you can use a consumable to remove it.
- The consumable you need: Antimiasma Powder
Antimiasma Powder will instantly remove the poison and increase poison resistance for a short while. To craft it, use 1 Tree Pearl and 1 Jade Lotus but if you want to buy it, you can do so from a Shrine store or Xu Dog.
Frost
With this status effect, your character will get frost damage over time and you can even become frozen. If that happens, keep dodging to get out of the effect.
- The consumable you need: Body-Warming Powder
Body-Warming Powder. is an Alleviating medicine that removes the Chilled state on your character and also improves Chill resistance for a short duration. To craft it, you require 1 Fire Bellflower, 1 Jade Lotus and you can purchase it from Xu Dog as well.
Thunder Status Effec
The Thunder status effect makes Wukong weaker, and he can become shocked which means you’ll take more damage from enemies and there’s no way to get rid of it without a particular consumable.
- The consumable you need: Shock-Quelling Powder
With 1 Gentian and 1 Jade Lotus, you can craft Shock-Quelling Powder that removes the shocked state and provides resistance for some time. Similar to other Alleviating Medicines, you can purchase this from the Keeper’s Shrine and Xu Dog.
