In Overwatch 2’s Battle of the Beasts (4v4), you’ll face the challenge of defeating the enemy Orisa while protecting your Beast and team from their attacks. Here, amidst the chaos of New Junk City, are some team compositions to help you win.
While this is not a definitive list because there are many factors that can affect the outcome, including player rank and skill, it can give you an idea about which type of team can help you take down the enemy Beast and its players.
Remember – Only Mauga is available for the tank role, so if you’re a tank player, you don’t have many options. You can still play as him even if he is locked on the roster.
What is the best team comp for Battle of the Beasts Mode?
Team Comp 1
- Mauga
- Soldier: 76
- Bastion
- Ana/Moira
Soldier: 76 and Bastion are good picks to take against enemy Mauga, his team, and the Orisa. While the tanky Bastion can help provide an extra boost of damage for your team, Soldier: 76’s long-range pressure and flanking abilities can take out enemies as and when needed.
These DPS characters not only have high damage but also have self-healing abilities. Moreover, Bastion’s shield can come in handy when the team fight heats up.
Ana can sleep the enemy Orisa and nano boost her own Beast to deal greater damage. Her sleeps and anti-heal nades on enemy players combined with DPS can help take out the team too. Ana is a must-pick against Mauga at this point, but her lack of mobility can make her an easy target. Mauga players also prioritize Ana so position yourself in such a way that you stay protected.
However, if you know Moira like the back of your hand, you can stick with your team and deal some strong healing and burst damage. Whenever needed, you can flank enemies and take out the low-health ones with your orb and your fade may make you hard to hit with everything else going on around you.
Team Comp 2
- Mauga
- Junkrat
- Mei
- Ana
While Mauga deals a lot of damage, support players have to babysit him to keep him alive. To help take down enemy Mauga, you can pick Mei who can use her wall to block his support from healing him, effectively taking him down.
Junkrat can stay on high ground wherever possible and keep dealing AoE damage and knock back enemies from capture points. If Mauga uses an ult and traps multiple heroes, a rip-tire from Junkrat can wipe the team.
Team Comp 3
- Mauga
- Reaper
- Baptiste
- Zen/Lucio
This is a risky comp but might just work out. To compensate for a missing DPS player, we have Baptiste who can also use his lamp to keep Mauga alive in critical moments. A good zen can land headshots and also amplify the overall damage with his Orb of Discord.
If you’d like to pick Lucio instead of Zen, he can provide good group healing, speed boost and could be relatively hard to hit if he keeps moving around and using walls.
Meanwhile, Reaper is our pick for the DPS who will get up, close and personal with enemies, take high ground by teleporting and wraith away whenever things get rough. This comp will work best if you have comms with your team.
Things to keep in mind
While any team comp can work if you really coordinate with each other, there are a few things to follow:
- If your voice comms are off, make sure to use ping and team chat to effectively complete objectives.
- Your main focus should be dealing more damage to the Grand Beast. Make sure to know about its altered powers beforehand.
- Know about your enemy team’s composition and see if counter swapping helps. Players can leave the match too, so be ready for that.
- Use covers and don’t be seen out in the open, especially near the Grand Beast.
These were some of the best compositions for Battle of the Beasts in Overwatch 2, but if it doesn’t feature a hero you main, don’t worry. At the end of the day, your playstyle, synergy with the other heroes on your team, skill level of your team and the enemies and team coordination will all play a role to help you win. Experiment, adapt, and dominate the Battle of the Beasts!
