Published Date :

For players looking to make the most out of the Cleric class while traversing through the Forgotten Realms in Baldur’s Gate 3, you will find choosing the right Domain and Deity for the class much more difficult and time-consuming. While Cleric Domain represents subclasses that provide different types of skillsets according to the abilities, deities however, are more or less used for role-playing and can sometimes affect your relationship with certain characters.

Since there are quite a lot of options to choose from and you don’t want to get stuck with a subclass that isn’t suited to your playstyle, you might want to know which ones are the best to choose from. With the right subclass, spells, deity, etc, Cleric can be one of the best classes in the D&D universe. So if you are wondering which Cleric Domain and Deity in Baldur’s Gate 3 to choose from, then here is a guide you should check out further.

If you are looking for the best Cleric Domain in Baldur’s Gate 3, then there is no need to look further than either Light Domain, Tempest Domain, or Life Domain. With these three subclasses, you will be able to make the most out of your Cleric. However, if you are wondering about the absolute best then Light and Tempest Domains are the ones to go for in BG3.

While the Light Domain has access to powerful spells and focuses more on dealing with damage and combat, the Tempest Domain is more suited for melee combat and focuses more on thunder and lightning damage. We would suggest if you are going for a spellcaster cleric then having the Light Domain as your subclass would be ideal. It gives you access to spells like Flaming Sphere, Fireball, Burning Hands, etc.

For players looking for a melee-based cleric, the Tempest Domain is the key, since it comes with the Martial Combat and Heavy Armor proficiencies in Baldur’s Gate 3. Both of these domains have the best features amongst the subclasses, with the Light Domain consisting of Warding Flare and Wrath of the Storm for Tempest.

On the other hand, Life Domain in Baldur’s Gate 3 will provide you with the spells required to heal and buff your teammates for a more passive approach for a cleric. It is more ideal for players going for a more healer role in their party.

Choosing Deity Will Depend On The Playthrough You want (Image Source: ItalianSpartacus on YouTube)

Since choosing a Deity for Cleric in Baldur’s Gate 3 is purely for roleplaying purposes, it will depend on how you want your playthrough to be. It is worth mentioning that since some deities have conflicting ideologies you might find them affecting your relationship with certain characters. For example, selecting Selune as your Cleric Deity might affect your dialogue choices with Shadowheart, as she is one of Shar’s loyal followers.

That said, each deity will have its characteristics in the game. For example, Moradin, the Dwarf God of Creation is considered lawfully good. If you are looking for some of the best choices, then we would suggest going for Selune, Bahamuth, Eilistraee, etc in BG3.

That’s everything covered in this guide. If you find this guide helpful, be sure to go through our dedicated Baldur’s Gate 3 section for more interesting ones, right here on Gamer Tweak.
