When you open Steam you see a plethora of games. And with such an overwhelming number of choices, you might end up where you began, which is not sure what game to play. Worry not, in this list I have compiled a list of games which is sure to make you have a good time. This list has something for everyone, I have selected from fighting games all the way to visual novels. So without further ado let’s check out the 5 Best Anime games on Steam for you to try.
Best Anime Games on Steam
These are my picks for the best Anime games on Steam (PC) that you can play.
Dragon Ball Fighter Z – Best Anime Games on Steam
Anime games and Dragon Ball games go hand in hand. No anime games list can be complete without having a Dragon Ball game in it. The best part about this game is even if you don’t like anime and are a fan of fighting games, you can enjoy this game. What makes this game stand out is that it is a classic 2D-style fighting game (or rather 2.5D to be very specific). DBFZ has a 3v3 match system. This game has a lot of fan-favorite characters like Goku, Vegeta, Android 18, and more. Alternatively, if you would like to play a crossover between different anime you should try playing Jump Force.
Doki Doki Literature Club
Warning – this is a psychological horror game. If you are not into horror games or games which revolve around heavy themes you might want to skip this one. Doki Doki Literature Club is a beautiful-looking visual novel that revolves around you. That’s right since you are the main character you will interact with 4 girls Yuri, Monika, Sayori, and Natsuki. As you join the literature club and do the daily club activities, you will find a lot of “Character development” and their backstories. It is free to play on Steam and quite a short game at that so I urge you to give it a try.
River City Girls
Are you a fan of the beat ’em up games? Then this game is for you. River City Girls is a beat ’em up RPG game. This game lets you play as Misako or Kyōko. You can play this game alone, or in two-player mode but locally. These characters play similarly but have their own unique moves as well. It has pixelated style characters which will give you an old-school arcade feel. This game has a short story, so you can beat the game in around 5-10 hours. You could beat it over the weekend so you should consider playing it.
Persona 4 Golden – Best Anime Game For PC
This game is a must for all the JRPG fans or if you’ve never tried a JRPG game before. Persona 4 Golden has a turn-based combat system. This game like most JRPG games is very long it should take you anywhere between 60 to 150 hours to beat this game. That is a lot, but it is also a great bang for your buck. Oh and if you didn’t get enough of the game in your first playthrough don’t worry you can still play at least 4 more times as it has 5 different endings.
VRChat
Amongst this pandemic, if you want to socialize while maintaining distance from others this is the game you are looking for. Doesn’t matter if you are bold or shy, if you have a PC you can play this game. Yes, you don’t even compulsorily need to have a VR set to play this game. Although the experience won’t be as immersive as when playing with a VR, it is neat that you can play it without one in case you don’t have a VR or if your PC specs don’t support it. And the best part is, this is a free-to-play game.
Genshin Impact
Speaking about a list of the best anime games and not having Genshin Impact in it definitely makes it incomplete. An important note, this game was on Steam but it got removed from there. So while it may not be available on Steam now, because it was previously, thus it makes it on this list. You can still download it from the Epic Games Store or from its native client from its official website. There are plenty of reasons why you should play this game. For starters, it is a free-to-play game. Next, there are plenty of characters that you can pull in this game. While that in itself is a separate topic, we can sum it up because of the Gacha mechanism that this game works on. This game also gives you a massive open world to explore. And it isn’t just any blank or dull open world where you can only appreciate nature while flying around aimlessly. The game also has plenty of NPCs for you to interact with and learn about.
The best part is if you are looking to be a part of an ongoing game then this is the one for you. Because as of now the main story of the game is yet to be completed.
That sums up this list of best Anime games on Steam but more are going to be added soon! Check back here for an updated list. Meanwhile, if you don’t like your profile name on Steam and are planning to change it check out our list of funny Steam names.
