Pokemon Scarlet And Violet: How To Beat 5 Star Raids

Published Date :

In Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, there are tons of activities for you to do across Paldea. You get to do exciting endgame activities after finishing the main storylines. One of the major features added to these titles is Tera Raids. If you are a veteran trainer, you must remember the Gigantamax raids. Here, instead of Gigantamax Pokemon, you will be battling Terastallized ones. Along with that, you will have a time limit to beat them. A Star System denotes the difficulty of these raids. Higher-level raids are tough to beat but they give the best rewards. In this article, we will tell you how to beat 5 Star Raids in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

These raids are a part of endgame activities. To unlock them, you have to complete the Main Storylines. Once you do, you will get a call from Jacq informing you about the 5-Star Raids. After unlocking the raids, you can challenge them solo, with friends, or with NPCs. The best way to beat 5 Star Raids in Scarlet and Violet is to challenge them in a full group of four. We recommend you gather your friends instead of NPCs as they will be more of a hindrance. They will faint multiple times and eat up the precious timer. Once this timer reaches around half, the boss will summon a Tera Shield. It will take less damage if your Pokemon is in regular form, but bonus damage if it’s Terastallized. Unlike normal battles, you have to hit three attacks to be able to do it. But the boss can reset your Tera Energy occasionally.

Choose the Right Pokemon

The choice of your Pokemon is very important in these Tera Battles. Along with the type of Tera Raid, you should be aware of the Pokemon in it. Choose a Pokemon with a decent level (Around Lvl. 75) and the elemental type which is resistant to the Boss’ attacks. Remember, fainting cuts off a huge chunk of the timer, so select a tanky Pokemon that can take a lot of hits. Also, use attacks that restore your health along with dealing damage like Bitter Blade.

Use the Cheer Mechanic to Beat 5 Star Raids

Use Cheer Mechanic

You should also make good use of the new “Cheer” mechanic in Tera Raids. This can be used to either heal the whole team or give them an Attack or a Defense buff. We recommend you lean towards defense as the boss can hit pretty hard. Keep in mind that if two players use the same cheer, they are canceled out. So communicate with your teammates before using it.

Use Held Items

Our last tip is to make your Pokemon hold Items. They can be very useful in these battles. The two items we would recommend are the Shell Bell and the Metronome. The Shell Bell will restore your HP every time you inflict damage. While the Metronome will boost the damage of a repeatedly used move.
