Armadillo is a neutral mob. You can find them in the savanna biomes of the game. While exploring it is recommended you explore it on foot while not running. This is because when an armadillo feels scared it rolls up into a ball. So you might pass one by without noticing as they would appear a weird block.

The Armadillo mob typically is of brown color. They have big ears and you can feed them Spider eyes which is their favorite food. One of the most important uses of an Armadillo is it can drop scutes. You can then use them to craft wolf armor.

Where to Find Armadillo in Minecraft – Spawn Locations

As mentioned above, you need to go to the Savanna biomes when looking for them. Try not skipping your in-game sleep, as they are afraid of undead mobs. Also, make sure you are not mounted on a horse or any vehicle while approaching them. Additionally, don’t run toward one as soon as you spot it.

How to Get Wolf Armor

In order to get wolf armor, you need to collect 6 Armadillo scutes. They drop it randomly, or you can also brush one to get it from them. Once you have enough, you can place them as follows to craft it:

  • 3 scutes in 1st column
  • 1 scute at the middle slot
  • 2 scutes in the center-right and bottom-right blocks.

Once you get the armor you can use it on a wolf to equip it. Do remember that only the one who has tamed the wolf can equip the armor on them. The same goes for unequipping, the owner can do that by using shear on their wolf that has it equipped.

The wolf armor provides the same defense as the Diamond Horse armor. Lastly, if the wolf dies while having the armor equipped, it simply drops there.

That’s all that is known so far about the Minecraft Armadillo mob. While you are here also check out about their 4K support for Xbox Series X. As for more news or guides on this game, check out our Minecraft section.
