Who are the Best Villagers in Animal Crossing: New Horizons?

These cute characters are a treat to have as a villager. They are so loved that they are sold on the ‘black market‘ for real world money. Yup, the Animal Crossing community is serious about getting these best villagers on their islands. So, here’s a list of the best villagers in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

With a name based on a dessert, the ‘meringue’, Merengue is a rhino villager. She lives up to her name because she is just so incredibly sweet! She was first introduced in New Leaf and now, she’s one of the most favored characters in New Horizons. Her catchphrase is ‘shortcake’ in English and ‘de shuga’ in Japanese, which is a pun on desu ga (meaning ‘although’) and ‘shuga’ (which sounds like Sugar). She looks like a strawberry with her spotted red horn and pink body. She’s a normal villager who loves to make friends. Merengue is super easy to get along with and has an open-minded nature overall. Due to her kindness, she is one of the most loved Animal Crossing New Horizons character in the community.

Raymond is a stylish business man with impeccable dressing sense, which is why he is one of the most adored characters. He is a gray cat with a black tail, black paws and sleek blonde hair. He has two differently colored eyes and he wears cute glasses. His personality is smug so he is kind and polite, but he does have a holier-than-thou attitude. Getting along with others comes easily to Raymond. Even his house looks like an office, so it’s obvious that Raymond means business! His looks, dressing style and behavior all contribute to his increasing popularity.

Marshal is yet another villager having a smug personality. He kind of looks like a marshmallow which might be why he is named Marshal. He’s a white squirrel with cute, blushing cheeks who is cheerful and lively so don’t be fooled by his eyes. He’s definitely not cranky but very charming and even flirtatious. Marshal dons a cute denim jacket initially in the game and looks adorable in it. He is definitely one of the most sought-after villagers in ACNH.

Stitches is a cub villager who looks like a stuffed teddy bear. His catchphrase stuffin’ and his name alludes to this. His features include a purple forehead, colorful limbs and an orange body. Stitches loves to chill and relax due to his lazy personality, although he does enjoy fishing, catching bugs and just being fashionable. He’s like a child, almost like a younger brother behavior-wise. Players find Stitches too cute which explains his popularity.

Lolly is a normal cat villager who is very sweet, sensitive and kind. She is so sensitive and motherly that she might feel sad if other cranky villagers say something to her. Lolly is a tabby cat with black stripes on her limbs, tail and head. Her catchphrase is bonbon which means candy in French. Sweet!

Marina is a normal octopus villager whose catchphrase is ‘blurp’, the sound of an octopus squirting ink. She is pink and has eight tentacles. One of her most noticeable features is her cute round mouth.

Marina is usually very kind to players and can make friends pretty easily. Having her around will give you a feeling of happiness. She will definitely liven up your island!

Lucky is a lazy dog villager who is covered head-to-toe in a cast. But he’s still alive, so that’s probably why he’s called Lucky. His catchphrase is rrr-owch! He looks like a mummy with a yellow eye peeking through his bandages, and suspiciously, he even has an Egyptian themed house. That makes us wonder, is he lucky to be alive or is the name ironic since he’s a mummy? Even though his appearance isn’t conventionally cute, he is much-loved by the community due to his approachable nature. Lucky lives a slow-paced lifestyle and has childlike interests.

Beau is a lazy deer villager who first appeared in New Leaf. His cute look is one of the main reasons behind his popularity. Initially, he wears a cute deer shirt. He has a laid-back personality and loves sleeping, relaxation and food. Honestly, we can all relate to him. His carefree attitude is what makes him a wonderful villager!

Chevre is yet another villager who is really loved by almost everyone playing ACNH. She’s a normal goat villager with a catchphrase la baa! Chevre is a white goat with big eyes and baby pink freckles. She’s a clean freak, just like other normal villagers. She is kind, supportive and polite and feels bad when asking for favors.
