Nier Replicant is full of quests, some of which progress the storyline while some help you earn rewards. One such side quest is the Fisherman’s gambit quest where you have to catch the Rainbow trout. Rainbow Trout Fishing location in Nier Replicant?

Fishing is an integral part of Nier Replicant as there are multiple quests based on fishing. Better fishing skills will help you complete these faster and gain rewards. After catching the shaman fish, you’ll find a resident at the seafront, he’ll ask you to do certain tasks and will reward you by increasing your fishing skills, this will start a series of side quests called Fisherman’s gambit. Rainbow trout can only be found in the northern plains, go to the northern end of the village, where you will find a dock, which is where you can find the rainbow trout. There is only one dock at the northern end so it won’t be a difficult task to find it.

We recommend you to carry some earthworms with you as bait, earthworms help most in luring Rainbow trout. Once at the dock, select the bait and start fishing. This will test your patience, so stay calm, and as soon as you feel the rod twitch start pulling. Timing is the key here as you should judge correctly if the fish is hooked on it or not. We would recommend you to not pull on the first twitch and wait for some seconds, if it continues to bend or the twitching increases, it’s your time to pull. Once you have the Rainbow trout, repeat the process as you have to give 7 to the resident to complete the quest. If in urgent need of gold you can also sell it for gold instead of completing the quest.
