Wondering how to carry over progress and in-game cosmetics from Overwatch 1 to Overwatch 2? Players must merge their accounts to make it happen.
To set up cross-progression and carry over their in-game cosmetics from OW 1 to OW 2, players will need to merge their Xbox/PlayStation/Nintendo accounts with Battle.net. By doing this, you will be able to access your Credits, Tokens, Competitive Points, Cosmetics, Stats, Presets, and more easily. Now, if you are not sure how to link your Battle.net and console account and merge them to play Overwatch 2, this guide will show you the way.
First and foremost, players need a battle.net account to play OW 2 and also to carry over progress. If you play on a console and don’t have one, make a battle.net account first and then follow the steps below.
When you merge your console account to your battle.net account, your OW progress will be saved to the battle.net account and will be successfully carried forward to Overwatch 2.
The good news for PC players is that your progress will be automatically carried over to Overwatch 2. If you have a console account, you have the option to merge your console account to Battle.net account as well.
To access and carry over progress from Overwatch 1 to Overwatch 2, merging accounts is very crucial. If you have skins or cosmetics on your PC OW that you want to merge to your console, it is possible. Plus, you can also transfer your progress of OW from PC to Console and vice versa. All you need is a link between OW and Battle.net.
There will only be one opportunity to merge your console accounts, so ensure that you use the right account for merging them. If you make a mistake, you will not be able to link to a different console account on the same platform. With that in mind, here are the steps you need to follow.
Players can unlink console accounts from their Battle.net accounts, but there is a specific cooldown (that could even be of a year) to link new accounts to it.
All items in the Hero Gallery (sprays, emotes, skins and other cosmetics) will be available in the merged battle.net account. Your endorsements, Achievements, Statistics, Credits, Skill Rating will also be merged.
