Keepers are basically the maintenance guys in Mass Effect. This Insectoid race is completely harmless but the minute you try to capture one, they will self-destruct. You can however scan them through a special scanner made by a scientist named Chorban. This is a part of the Citadel: Scan the Keepers quest that will need you to scan 21 Keepers all around Mass Effect maps. You will find 9 Keepers in the Wards, 4 in Citadel Tower, and 8 in the Presidium locations of Mass Effect.

1. Keepers Location in Wards of Mass Effect

These are all the Keepers that you will get to scan in the Wards area of Mass Effect:

• Location 1 – Alliance Docking Bay, Dock 422

• Location 2 – C Sec Academy Requisition Office

• Location 3 – C Sec Academy Traffic Control Room

• Location 4 –  Alleyway Between Ward Access Corridor and Chora’s Den

• Location 5 – Alleyway Between the Wards Access Corridor and Chora’s Den

• Location 6 –  Upper Markets, Left to the Expat’s Stall
