Run as an Administrator

When prompted with the error message, choose the Close option. And, exit the running Battle.net or Steam launcher.

• Head over to the file directory of COD Modern Warfare 2.
• Right-click on the COD MWII.exe file and select the Properties.
• Then, choose the Compatibility tab from the Properties.
• Tick the “Run this program as an administrator” option and hit the Apply option.
• Finally, hit the OK option to exit the properties option.
• Follow the above steps and choose the Run as an administrator option for your launcher as well.

Then, launch COD MW2 to check if you are still prompted with the error.

Verify your Game Files
