Devil May Cry 5

Devil May Cry 5 PS5 Load Times Is 5 Times Faster Than PS4

Thanks to the SSD, the loading times of PS5 games are significantly shorter than in the current generation. They are demonstrated in a current video for Devil May Cry 5: Special Edition.

The Devil May Cry 5: Special Edition is part of a current hands-on video, which among other things lets you take a look at the loading times of the title on the PS5.

A loading time of four seconds is necessary to get to the mission shown. The same mission took 22 seconds to load on PS4. Such improvements are of course no surprise, since the built-in SSD of the PS5 allows significantly reduced loading times.

Ultimately, the load times on the PS5 seem so fast that Capcom even added a prompt to “press X to continue” so players can really read the tips and trick the game shows while it’s loading.

The Devil May Cry 5: Special Edition includes several new game modes, features, and Virgil as a playable character. It is the first title from the Japanese publisher to be released for the new consoles. The new version of the game includes next-gen features such as ray tracing and 3D audio. Additionally, all contents of the Deluxe Edition and the EX Color Pack are included.

There is one small caveat to ray tracing support, at least on the Xbox Series X: The ray racing features will be available for the PlayStation 5 version upon release and will be added to the Xbox Series X version in a downloadable post-release patch.

In the hands-on video below you can see more than just the gameplay from the Devil May Cry 5: Special Edition. You can also take a look at Godfall and Balan Wonderworld.

The Devil May Cry 5: Special Edition will release at the respective market launches of the consoles for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. Capcom currently has no plans to bring the extended remake to the PC.
