These are the fixes you should try to resolve this error. Do remember they aren’t official fixes, but something that can help you out.

  • Run the game in Safe Mode: This is the fix that worked for us. When trying to play a Private match there is a good chance your game will crash and you will get a message that says the game stopped unexpectedly and “would you like to run it in safe mode”. Choose yes. The next time the game starts you will be able to start private matches.
  • Change FPS to Unlimited: If you are using Custom FPS then changing it to Unlimited can be a big help. Simply go to your Graphics settings and scroll down. Then change your FPS settings from Custom to Unlimited. This will solve the issue you won’t get the above errors when trying to start private matches.

While the above two fixes should help you play private matches. You can also try the ones mentioned below to see if they help any better.

  • Try online matchmaking first: Many players have found starting matchmaking for a public game and then canceling it can help you fix it. Simply wait for a few seconds and then play a private match and it should work.
  • Verify file Integrity: This issue occurred after the addition of Warzone 2 in the update. So there is a chance some files might have gotten corrupted. You can scan and repair the game files on both Battle.net and Steam. After the files are verified try playing the game and see if you still get the error.
  • Restart the Game: This fix has a slim chance of working. But you can restart the game to see if you are able to play any private matches.
