You can unlock most characters by simply progressing through the game’s story. However, you cannot unlock their academy versions by story progression. Here are the requirements to unlock Academy characters:

• Tanjiro Kamado (Kimetsu Academy): Use 4000 Kimetsu points or view his 40 memory fragments.
• Giyu Tomioka (Kimetsu Academy): Complete all 7 special missions on normal mode.
• Nezuko Kamado (Kimetsu Academy): Use 4000 Kimetsu points or view her 53 memory fragments.
• Zenitsu Agatsuma (Kimetsu Academy): Us3 4000 Kimetsu points or complete 15 reward missions.
• Shinobu Kocho (Kimetsu Academy): Complete all 7 special missions on hard mode.
• Inosuke Hashibira (Kimetsu Academy): Complete 19 reward missions.

You can collect memory fragments when you are roaming the map while progressing through the story.
