How to fix Apex Legends Season 5 DXerror on Windows 10?

By default re-installing, everything fixes the issues. But re-installing works well if you can completely remove the game and its associated files or folders. You can try using IObit Uninstaller to wipe out completely all installation files, its associated folders and registry entries.

  • Remove Origin completely from your PC and remove associated folders also.
  • Re-install Origins first and then run any latest gpu driver updates or Windows pending update.
  • DXError is linked with DirectX, and it can be re-installed manually. Click here to download DirectX manually.
  • Run the setup and then try back.

A few more things to verify is checked if your security software is not blocking Origin or Apex Legends. You can also add the apps under the exception list of your security tool. This will allow the launcher to execute all associated services and files to launch the game properly. If nothing works then there is one final fix that will help you. The solution is shared on EA forums, by user Stoogiemeister. It requires to modify the value from Windows Registry

  • Click on Start key and then in the search box type Registry Editor.
  • Click on File > Export. Save a backup of registry settings safe. Just in case if there is any other error you can restore it back from Registry Editor App > File > Import.
  • Go to – HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > Microsoft > DirectX.
  • Go to – HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > WOW6432Node > Microsoft > DirectX.

Now, in the end, there is a DirectX folder. Right-click on Version and choose Modify. Set the value to 4.09.00.0904 to 4.08.00.0904. The solution had worked for different DirectX bugs. So try this out and if nothing works then you will have to work from scratch. That is backup your data and run Refresh Windows PC from Safe Mode. This is going to wipe out everything restoring the Factory Version of your Windows 10 Operating System. Run all the updates, and then install the game and the launcher.

But keep this solution as the last resort, run all graphic driver updates, launcher updates, etc before you go with the Windows 10 reset.
