Nothing is off the table when we discuss GTA 6 innovations. Over the last twenty years, Rockstar has regularly taken the gaming world by storm with its creativity.

It hasn’t just been in their legendary Grand Theft Auto installments, although they have contributed the most to innovations. Games like Red Dead Redemption 2, The Warriors, and Max Payne also comprise their gaming library-gaming dynasties. So, if we’re drilling into Bitcoin usage in GTA – the first place to start would be implementation within the casino.

From a technical perspective, it wouldn’t be the most challenging thing for Rockstar to implement. GTA V’s consistent, ongoing success has shown that they know how to create a 24/7 online market and facilitate payments from all over the world.

Obviously, blockchain is an entirely different beast from the traditional banking system by design. While this idea would’ve been ludicrous for GTA V, released less than half a dozen years after the creation of Bitcoin, BTC has now become a means of payment that hundreds of companies recognize online.

For instance, the crypto-gambling industry has turned into a multi-billion dollar industry in the gap between GTA V and GTA 6 – let’s not forget that the casino in GTA V is one of the most popular extensions of the online version. Casino gaming has been active in GTA since San Andreas for the PS2; back then, that was a complete revelation. San Andreas provided a platform for almost every casino game – with several tables in Las Venturas littered with roulette tables.

So, if Bitcoin appeared in the next GTA, could it be at the roulette table or as part of the wider casino? Bitcoin roulette is a growing trend in casino gaming, and it would definitely be a significant upgrade in terms of creativity within the GTA casino realm.

It’s challenging to think of many other ideas they could explore in their casino gaming that would kick up such a stir, and playing roulette with Bitcoin would certainly be one of them – and if Bitcoin is going to appear anywhere in the game, it’s likely going to be via this route, you’d think anyway.

Again, we want to allude to what we touched on in our intro—Rockstar is famously tight-lipped regarding any potential design or innovations with their golden goose. We only need to look at how the mere release of the first trailer broke multiple Guinness World Records. So, any possible blockchain or cryptocurrency explorations will be under lock and key on a need-to-know basis.

We must point out that Rockstar has not confirmed cryptocurrency or blockchain involvement in GTA 6. In fact, there is no confirmation that there will even be a casino thus far. Let’s not forget that Rockstar banned the use of NFTs on player-run GTA servers just a couple of years ago.

However, Take Two, Rockstar’s sister company has ventured into crypto gaming following its acquisition of Zynga. They also confirmed that the game’s release will occur in the fall of 2025, giving designers plenty of time to construct ways to implement blockchain ideas into GTA 6.

Other Avenues
