To use your motorcycle or any other vehicle over long distances, you need to know how to get Fuel in Once Human. There are multiple ways to get this resource depending on your stage in the game and preferred method. Here’s everything you need to know.

There are two main fuel types—Portable Mixed Fuel and Barreled Premium Fuel.

Here are some locations to go to increase your chances of finding abandoned cars: Deadsville area, Red Sands outskirts, Broken Delta, Abandoned Settlements, and hidden paths which are off the main roads.

Once you progress further, you can build a Fuel Refinery at your base. This unlocks the ability to refine fuel further. For this, you must unlock the specific Memetic. Find the Fuel Refinery option under Infrastructure and unlock it with 3 Ciphers and 200 Energy links. If you’re short of Energy Links, these Once Human codes will be useful.

After unlocking it, go to the Build Mode, Facilities > Production Processing and craft the Refining Facility. It costs 25x Bronze Ingots, 10x Copper Ingots, 5x Electronic Parts and 10x Standard Parts.

This basically converts Portable mixed fuel into Barreled Premium Fuel. Interact with the structure and add the Fuel Input of x50 Portable Mixed Fuel and this will transform into x1 Barreled Premium Fuel. If this feels like too much effort for too less, you can also loot Barreled Premium Fuel directly from Engagement Zones since you’ll need plenty to fuel trucks.

Make sure to manage your fuel consumption by avoiding unnecessary travel (use teleportation whenever you can) and maximizing resource gathering trips.

Different vehicles have varying fuel efficiency – motorcycles are generally more fuel-efficient than larger vehicles. Upgrading your vehicles can sometimes improve their fuel efficiency.

There are some more methods to get your hands on fuel in Once Human. On PvP servers, capturing and holding oil refineries can provide fuel as a reward but this is a riskier method for newer players. To make things easier, you can buy the Battle Pass to get Portable Mixed Fuel at different levels of progression.

In the later stages of the game, some advanced defensive structures, like missile turrets, also require fuel to operate. So, hopefully, this guide has solved any questions you might have about obtaining higher quantities of fuel in the game.

With that done, here’s how to get water, salt, tungsten ore and more resources in our Once Human guides.

Fuel is essential for powering all vehicles in Once Human.
