But there’s something that adds a bit of difficulty to the normal mode of Wordle and that’s double letters. Can the same letter repeat twice and what are the rules for that? How do the colors change in the hints? Here’s all you need to know about it.<\/p>\n<h2>Can Letters Repeat Twice in Wordle?<\/h2>\n<p>Yes, letters can repeat in Wordle. As found in the <a href=\"https:\/\/gamertweak.com\/wordle-answers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>archive answers<\/strong><\/a>, there are quite a few words with double\/same letters. This complicates things because the game does not tell you about a repeated letter <em>unless<\/em> you have attempted a word that <em>has<\/em> a repeated letter in it.<\/p>\n<p>Let me explain. I <strong>tried using double E<\/strong> but both are greyed out.<\/li>\n<li>Based on this, I guessed <strong>TRUST<\/strong> and it showed me that <strong>T, R, U, S are in the right spot.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Now, it is up to me to come up with <strong>TRUSS<\/strong> as the answer in the fewest tries possible. The game will not give you an extra hint to tell me about the “S” I am missing in the guess.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Another example is the word <strong>KNOLL<\/strong>. You might try a lot of variations of KNOWN, KNOCK, KNOWS, KNOTS. But if you have one “L” in the wrong spot, you will see it in Yellow. And if you have one more “L” in your guess and there’s <em>no triple repetition<\/em> of the letter in the final answer, then the third L will be in Grey.<\/p>\n<p>Hopefully, this clarified any doubts you might have!
