Mortal Kombat 1 recently got a release date for its Beta and Early Access. Since then, fans have become extremely excited about what is to come. It has hardly been less than a month since the teaser dropped, and since then fans have received a confirmed release date and also an announcement trailer. What Characters are in MK1?
Johnny Cage
Though Johnny Cage wasn’t seen in the announcement trailer, the developers have confirmed that he will be a part of Mortal Kombat 1’s Roster. However, it remains to be seen how the action movie star and martial artist will be shown in the reboot.
Kitana
One of the strongest fighters in the series, Kitana is the second confirmed character in Mortal Kombat 1. She is the Princess of the realm of Edenia who was brought back to life in Mortal Kombat 11. Kitana can be seen in the announcement trailer seated in a royal carriage along with her sister – Mileena.
Mileena
The third confirmed Mortak Kombat 1 character is Mileena. She is a mutant hybrid clone of nobody but her sister – Kitana. Mileena can be seen seated alongside her sister in a royal carriage. She has played an antagonist in almost every MK game as she became jealous of her sister.
Kung Lao
Kung Lao, particularly known for his razor-sharp hat, is your fourth confirmed Mortal Kombat 1 character. Moreover, he is also slightly resentful at being in his best friend Liu Kang’s shadows.
Liu Kang
The fifth confirmed character in MK1’s roster is none other than Liu Kang himself. He has served as the main protagonist in countless Mortal Kombat games now. His role in the upcoming game is expected to be the same as seen in the announcement trailer.
Raiden
The sixth character that is confirmed to be in Mortal Kombat 1 is Raiden. He faced a cruel end in Mortal Kombat 11, however, he is set to make a comeback in the upcoming game. He can be seen teaming up with Kung Lao and Liu Kang.
Scorpion
Scorpion is the seventh character in the Mortal Kombat 1 Roster as of now. He only makes a brief appearance in the trailer. Scorpion can be seen approaching his rival Sub-Zero in what appears to feel like a battle. However, the two have joined forces to fight for the greater good.
Sub-Zero
The eight character in the Mortal Kombat 1 roster is Sub-Zero. He is seen allying with his otherwise foe – Scorpion in the announcement trailer.
Shang Tsung
Last but not least, the ninth confirmed character in Mortal Kombat 1 is the antagonist Shang Tsung. He can be seen single-handedly decimating several heroes before he meets Liu Kang. The soul-stealing sorcerer is ripped to shreds by Liu Kang at the end of the trailer.
